Have you’ve ever thought about participating in ROLLER DERBY?  Here’s your chance to test the waters!

• Skate Ranch in Lufkin is the place to meet.  
• Every Thursday night from 7:00-9:00pm local ladies are getting their roller derby workout.  No commitments needed, but roller derby might be the newest, hottest workout around!
• In all seriousness, this is a real practice, you will be required to wear a helmet, knee pads, elbow pads, wrist guards and a mouth guard. There are a few extras to share, except the mouth guards.
• You can rent skates at the rink for $3, if you like it you can purchase your own gear.
• All skill levels are welcome and encouraged, many of us haven’t skated since we were 7, but that’s okay!

You won’t want to miss the Welcome Back to School Late Skate on Friday, September 26th is Skate Ranch’s Back To School Late Skate in Lufkin! Rain or Shine, football game or not. We’re opening at 6:00pm and staying open for rollerskating and fun with friends until 12:00am. Admission is $12, that’s only $2 per hour! Skate Ranch will help all students get out and get some energy spent! Races, Cops-n-Robbers, Black Light Relays, and maybe even a snowball fight!! Parents need a night without the kids? Drop them off before you go and pick them up when you’re done. Anyone under the age of 18 can’t leave the building without parents present!

We’ve finished up our Summer skate lessons at Skate Ranch and we’re ready to go again! Do you know someone who’d like to learn the basics of roller skating? Tired of doing more sitting on the skate floor than rolling?! Skate lessons at Skate Ranch are open to all ages! For Fall we’re offering lessons two days a week, Wednesday and Saturday. Call for more information or to sign up ahead of time. Ask how you can get a discount when you PREPAY for 4 weeks!

Summer is on it’s way OUT, but the DJ’s are on their way IN! Kick off the last weekend of Summer 2014 with DJ ‘Lil Ke & DJ Krisco at Skate Ranch in Lufkin for a LATE SKATE. They’ll play the hottest new music and take your request for 5 hours! Friday, August 22nd, 2014 from 7:00pm til 12:00am. Skate Ranch will be turning on the black lights, turning down the house speakers, and letting the DJ’s do it right! Make your plans now and bring some friends! $12 at the door, $3 more for any skate rental.

For once, I’m at a loss for themes. So, it’s simply a late skate. But, theme or no, it’s time to start planning on attending. There’s no theme needed to have a night out and hang with your friends, it’s summer anyway! Skate Ranch will be hosting their Late Skate on July 25th from 7:00pm-12:00am. Admission is $12 for five hours of fun! If you’d like to skate please feel free to bring your own, or rent inlines/quads for $3. June 27th is National Bomb Pop Day. It’s also Skate Ranch’s next LATE SKATE! Roller skate from 7:00pm til midnight for $12 entry. First 25 Late Skaters will get a FREE Bomb Pop to celebrate and cool off.

There is hardly a better reason to throw a party than the end of another school year; so, come celebrate with Skate Ranch. We are hosting a Glow Party late skate on Friday, May 30, 2014 from 7 p.m. to midnight.

Grab all of your favorite neon clothes, as well as your friends, and come spend the night skating at our Lufkin roller rink. We’ll have glow sticks and other glow-themed prizes available for you to win. We’ll also host different games and themed skates. Basically, this is the perfect opportunity to let loose and blow off all of the steam from the past academic year. Admission is only $12.

Summer Roller Skating Hours

May 30, 2014 is not only the date of our end of the school year late skate, it also marks the beginning of our new summer roller skating schedule. We are doing things a little differently this year, including offering free passes online through our website and our Facebook page. Each month, we’ll have a new coupon posted online for you to print, and you can print off as many as you want. Yet, they do have an expiration date, so make sure you have the current pass when you come visit us. We’ll also have new hours:

• Monday – Closed, but open for private parties
• Tuesday – Closed, but open for private parties
• Wednesday – 12-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.
• Thursday 12-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.
• Friday 12-4 p.m., 5-7 p.m., and 7-10 p.m.
• Saturday 12:30-5 p.m.in Lufkin and 12-7 p.m. in Nacogdoches, and 8-11 p.m. at either location
• Sunday 12:30-5 p.m.

Kids in Eastern Texas get to enjoy five full days off of school next week courtesy of Spring Break. Some families use this time to take a vacation, but then there are those trying to save money by enjoying a peaceful “staycation.” Unfortunately, those that take the staycation route tend to get a little stir crazy by Wednesday. You want to offer fun ways to entertain your kids and get them active, but the point of a staycation is to save money, and if you are spending $40 or more a day on entertainment venues, then your budget-friendly week is blown. What do you do? Roller skate!

Budget Friendly Things to do During Spring Break

We have distributed free passes with valid hours everyday of Spring Break, including the weekends, and your Kids Skate Free passes are valid, too. We also offer evening and night skate times with an admission price of only $4 on most nights. Tuesday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. is our Take It Back Tuesday night that features $1 admission and other $1 deals on concessions. Basically, if you are looking for budget friendly things to do in Lufkin or Nacogdoches, Skate Ranch and Skate-O-Rama have you covered everyday of the week.

Friday Night Late Skate

Then, on Friday, March 14th, we are hosting one big party for anyone who can stay up until midnight. The doors open at 7 p.m. for our Spring Break Late Skate, and the festivities continue until midnight. During these five hours of skate time, we will be having games, raffles, prizes, food and fun. Admission is $12, and it’s a great way to celebrate being off of school.

Just because you have decided to save some money by skipping a vacation does not mean that you have to spend every day at home. Come to Skate Ranch or Skate-O-Rama to let your kids be active and have fun. We are looking forward to seeing you!

Spring Break is quickly approaching in Eastern Texas. Local schools will be on break from March 8 through 16, and we know how parents can struggle to find affordable activities to keep their kids busy during these school breaks. Let us help you enjoy a budget-friendly staycation where you can let your kids burn off their energy on a daily basis. Both of our Texas roller skating rinks, Skate Ranch and Skate-O-Rama, will be open every day of Spring Break, and we will be heading to the schools on March 3 and 4 to distribute free passes. Make sure you ask your kids for these passes to ensure their safe keeping.

The free passes will have our open hours listed on them, but if you want to go ahead and start planning out your week, Skate Ranch and Skate-O-Rama will be open:

• Monday – Friday 12:00 to 4 p.m.
• Monday – Thursday 6 to 9 p.m.
• Friday 5 to 7
• Friday 7 to 10 for teen night
• Saturday 10 a.m. to noon (our lil’ bit skate for skaters 11 and under)
• Saturday 12:30 to 5
• Saturday 8 to 11 for family fun night ($29 gets you admission for four, four regular drinks and four hot dogs)
• Sunday 12:30 to 5

The free passes are valid:

• Monday – Friday from 12 to 4
• Monday – Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m.
• Friday 5 to 7
• Saturday 10 to noon and 12:30 to 5
• Sunday 12:30 to 5

In addition to the free passes that we will be handing out to the schools, your Kids Skate Free passes will be valid during these times as well. Remember that the free passes do not include skate rental, which is $3. Don’t struggle with trying to find things to do in eastern Texas during Spring Break. Spend the week roller skating with Skate Ranch and Skate-O-Rama.
